Hey Harlem! It's been a month of Sundays since I was last here, but all hasn't been for naught. Gearing up for the fall screenwriting, playwriting, memoir and teen writing workshops. Twelve-weeks intensives. Seats still available!

@WeHarlem Someone in your organization just rejected my blog because of the mistaken notion that my blog is a corporate one. It is not a corporate blog. It is a personal blog.

Where is the list of requested blogs?

@HarlemWriter I've a friend in a different state who's going to mail me a copy. Just thought someone in Harlem would be closer and free.

@HarlemWriter I have a copy of Windows XP Professional with code. Obviously you don't want OS that reports listing of your software. Has to be on the QT. :)

@HarlemWriter No, not high end software: Outlook, Word, Excel, internet.

We don't realize how dependent we are on gadgets until it breaks. Seeking recommendations for great Netbook. Anyone? I will restore laptop, but considering Netbook as backup.

Are there any tech savvy/IT/help desk folks in Harlem/UWS who'd be willing to burn copy of Windows XP Home or Pro 4 me? Will pick up soon.

Seeking IT/malware/spyware expert to diagnose and fix my computer that has become suddenly problematic. Will barter creative writing, editing, or baked goods for successful completion of problem.

Finished tweaking scrolling announcements on the site, viewable from every page except HOME. Check them out:

[POLL] Which key factors separate one-hit wonders in media and business from those with successful sustained careers? Vote online:

@HarlemWriter I was doing PR/talent booking work during Harlem Book Fair. The other hat that I wear -- Publicist/Artist Manager/Talent Booking Agent.

@HarlemWriter However, they don't follow through for any number of reasons. Possible fears of intellectual property theft? Done. We use NDA, an biz partner is an Intellectual Property Lawyer.

@HarlemWriter I see lots of black, Asian, and Latino writers in Society Coffee and Starbucks in Harlem when interviewing white applicants for Morningside. Their eyes & ears perk up, interested.

@HarlemWriter Meetup.com is a waste of time. I've been there and done it. I'm working against fear or misunderstanding of the publishing world. Education is key to moving to next step.

We've only ourselves to blame for the lack of quality published books, TV shows, and plays that audiences are eating up. Workshops are a great way to nurture and improve your craft.

Work with me, Harlemites! What can I do to attract intermediate|advanced, soon to publish fiction writers, and soon to produce|be optioned screen|TV writers?

I've built a formidable workshop that lacks cultural/ethnic diversity, and I'd like to remedy that by this September:

Wondering if I must create a targeted marketing campaign to attract minority writers to Morningside Writers Group? Or is it (most) uptown writers are (1) unaware of our group, (2) unwilling to travel?
